Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is located with majestic, and striking scenery located atop unique rock formations which reflect the result of waves pounding the coast. Commissioned in 1827 by John Quincy Adams. It was later rebuilt in 1857, and automated in 1934. The lighthouse is accessible by car, and a person can roam the beautiful area with breathtaking scenery. I felt such a sense of "peacefulness" when I visited this lighthouse. Truly a great lighthouse to visit, have a picnic, and let children climb around the rocks with supervision.
