Nauset Lighthouse was automated in 1955, the Fresnel lens replaced by aerobeacons and the characteristic changed to alternating red and white flashes. The keepers home is now privately owned.

The lighthouse is located next to Nauset Beach at the Cape Cod National Seashore. The lighthouse is truly a beautiful light to visit, with parking close to the lighthouse. Visitors may walk about the grounds and view the lighthouse up close. Great place for a day at the beach. I thought the keepers home to be quite unique in design compared to most other quarters that I've visited.
