Gasparilla Rear Range Lighthouse is located about half way down the island, and the Old Port Boca Grande Lighthouse watches over the island's southernmost point. The steel-skeleton tower is 105 feet tall, and was built in 1932.

When I first saw this lighthouse, I didn't think too much of this steel frame "thing". But, when I revisited the lighthouse later as it was turning dark, the lighthouse took on a whole different look with its beacon lit--giving a sense of "life".
