"Personal Notes"
Birds "in flight" are so graceful. It's amazing how different each bird looks while in flight. The Great Blue Heron looks so pre-historic, to me as its huge wing span flops in the air...while the Geat Egret flies with such grace. Ducks seem to have to quack as they fly by...as if announcing their arrival...same with Egrets...except instead of a "quack" they make a "BRAAK" sound.

I enjoy taking photographs of birds "in flight" because it is a challenge. A person has to get to know the species of bird and its habits...to predict when it is about to fly off...or to catch that special wing spread as it lands. It's a pleaure studying the habits of birds...espeically the Egrets. They are my favorite birds to photograph...especially the Snowy Egret.
