Point Betsie Lighthouse was built in 1858. The original 37 foot tower and attached two-story dwelling still stand. This lighthouse was among the last light stations on the Great Lakes to be automated. The lantern still has its original thrid-order Fresnel lens.
***Directions: Used as a private residence, the lighthouse is NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, but can be viewed from Point Betsie Road, off M-22 about 5 miles north of Frankfort.
