Beavertail Lighthouse is America's third-oldest light station. The existing 52 foot square granite tower, dates back to 1856. A modern optic replaced its classic fourth-order Fresnel lens in 1991 and emits a flashing white signal. The keeper's dwelling now serves as a museum.
